Gaja Aksinja Abramovic is a visual artist based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, working at the intersection of traditional illustration techniques and contemporary visual communication.
"My work explores the liminal spaces between memory and imagination, using warm earth tones and expressive mark-making to create narratives that feel both familiar and dreamlike."
Born in 1992, Gaja developed an early passion for visual storytelling through her grandmother's collection of illustrated fairy tales. This formative experience continues to influence her work, which often features solitary figures in atmospheric landscapes.
After completing her studies in Visual Communications at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, she has worked on editorial illustrations for various publications, book covers, and personal art projects that have been exhibited across Europe.
Her technique combines digital painting with traditional watercolor textures, creating images that possess both precision and organic warmth. She is particularly drawn to themes of nature, solitude, and the quiet moments between larger narratives.
